InRail: the main shareholders sale a majority stake to Autostrade del Brennero. Banca Akros acted as financial advisor of InRail’s main shareholders

The birth a the second national player in rail transportation of goods with a project of a “green” corridor between Brennero and Modena.

Milan, 24/12/2021, Banca Akros acted as financial advisor to the shareholders of InRail Sp, namely Tenor Srl and Inter-rail. The latter is owned by ABS (Danieli Group, listed on the Stock Exchange with a capitalisation of almost 2 billion) and Fantoni, a national leader in the prefabricated and office furniture sector.

The shareholders sold their stake in InRail to STR (Autostrada del Brennero), signing a partnership agreement to create Italy’s second-largest operator in the sector that would be a reference centre in Europe for rail freight transport.

InRail is a railway company founded in 2009. By the following year, it already ranked among the top 10 Italian railway companies in transporting raw materials, scrap-iron, finished steel products and timber.

Headquartered in Genoa, with operating offices in Udine and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), the Company is positioned on the market as an operator that responds to the need to provide terminal operations to transport goods arriving/departing from/to Eastern and Northern Europe. The Company can do this for clients based both in Italy and abroad, offering a complete range of services also thanks to its ability to work in synergy with foreign companies.

The operation resulted from the cooperation between the Investment Banking, Corporate Origination and Lodi Regional Management teams.
